Zine Territory

The Blaffer Art Museum

Featuring works from the UH Libraries Special Collections, Zine Territory explores the varied interpretations of physical places and localities in the form of self-publication just prior to the ascendancy of mobile technology.

The Blaffer Art Museum is the leading art space on the UH campus, always free, and an important hub connecting the UH campus community with the larger city of Houston. Special Collections at University of Houston Libraries is home to the Zine Fest Houston Collection, the Solidarity Houston and Sedition Books Zine Collection, and a variety of zines related to identity and culture.

The Blaffer Art Museum is located at 4173 Elgin Street, Houston, TX 77204. The museum is open Tu-Fr 10am-5pm and Sa-Su 12-5pm. Admission is free. Six free parking spaces are always reserved for museum visitors in Lot 16B directly across the street from the museum entrance.

Zine Territory was organized in conjunction with UH Zine Week, a week-long celebration of independent media and artistic expression coordinated by the Arts & Technology Center, at the University of Houston, showcasing underrepresented voices in fostering collaboration across disciplines.
