Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, nearly everyone has been asked to stay home. In times like these, separated from one’s family and friends, it may feel impossible to connect with a community. BIG Power Yoga, despite having to close its studios, has found a way to make community a reality.
In response to Covid-19, BIG created an online only schedule. Everyday the studio hosts live classes via Zoom. While yes it is virtual, the classes offer community that pre-recorded fitness classes do not. It is all thanks to a combination of seeing familiar faces, coming together at an agreed time, and sharing an experience with others. I cannot recommend joining one of BIG’s classes enough. I am proud to have been on BIG’s team for almost 3 years up until this January. I was a kids yoga teacher. Over the course of my teaching, I created a few coloring sheets. They helped me to center my classes around a theme, and they helped the kids to calm down towards the end of class and leave with something to show their parents.
While I won’t be teaching awesome classes like BIG virtually, I am happy to share a few resources including the coloring sheets I made as a teacher.
